Management of Improved Pastures for Optimal Performance

چکیده

Plant Species and Variety Forage quality refers to digestible nutrient content (i.e., energy, protein), palatability and digestibility of the forage plant. Legumes (alfalfa, medics, cloves, vetch) are the highest quality group of forage grown in pastures. They are high in protein, energy (digestibility), and minerals. They also “fix” nitrogen fertilizer, making them very economical to grow. Incorporating legumes into our pastures increases forage quality, increases animal performance, and reduces pasture costs per animal. Although forage legumes can require more management than grasses, their high quality can make a big difference in animal performance even if legume production is limited. I often point out that a limited stand of legumes will be equal to feeding range cubes for cattle using dormant grass or dry hay. Legume varieties can be region and soil specific, so check with your County Extension Agent for recommended varieties and management requirements to make legume plantings successful.

A Novel Intelligent Energy Management Strategy Based on Combination of Multi Methods for a Hybrid Electric Vehicle

Based on the problems caused by today conventional vehicles, much attention has been put on the fuel cell vehicles researches. However, using a fuel cell system is not adequate alone in transportation applications, because the load power profile includes transient that is not compatible with the fuel cell dynamic. To resolve this problem, hybridization of the fuel cell and energy storage device...

Introducing the improved Forest Canopy density (FCD) model for frequent assessment of Hyrcanian forest

Mapping of forest extent is a prerequisite to acquire quantitative and qualitative information about forests and to formulate management and conservation strategies. forest canopy density (FCD) model is one of the useful RS methods for forest mapping using satellite images. One of the most serious challenges in FCD model is the weakness in the calculation of canopy density in low density forest...

Mathematical Analysis of Optimal Tracking Interval Management for Power Efficient Target Tracking Wireless Sensor Networks

In this paper, we study the problem of power efficient tracking interval management for distributed target tracking wireless sensor networks (WSNs). We first analyze the performance of a distributed target tracking network with one moving object, using a quantitative mathematical analysis. We show that previously proposed algorithms are efficient only for constant average velocity objects howev...

اثر مدیریت مرتع بر توزیع اندازه و پایداری خاکدانه‌ها به روش الک تر و خشک در مراتع سبزکوه و بروجن استان چهارمحال و بختیاری

Free and uncontrolled pasture grazing by animals may decrease soil aggregate stability through reductions in plant cover and subsequent soil organic C, and trampling. This could expose the soil surface layer to degradation and erosion. The objective of this study was to determine the influence of pasture management (free grazing, controlled grazing and long-term non-grazing regimes) on aggregat...
